Take a hayride to the maple grove to see the tapping of the trees!

Tour - The entrance fee for a two hour family tour is $10.00 per person (infants under one are free).

During the months of February and March, when daytime temperatures are above freezing and nighttime temperatures are below freezing, tree sap rises from the roots going up the tree trunk.   When this happens the trees begin to wake from their long winter rest. More and more stored tree sap is pushed up the tree trunk. With a small hole, pin and bucket we are able to draw the sweet sap from the trunks.

Come visit Farmer Frank at Sunrock Farm, and discover how to tap maple trees to make maple syrup.   Enjoy a hayride out to the trees to collect the sap.   Return to the barns to visit the animals and see the kettle reducing the tree sap into maple syrup. Then get a taste of the sweet syrup.   Reserve your time for this tour, but hurry, maple syrup tours last for one month only!

Times for the program vary and reservations are necessary. Generally, tours are held from 10 to 12 PM, or from 2 to 4 PM, but times can be flexible to meet your needs.
